Have you ever wondered who the founder of Regents is? The man who started Regents is called Dr. Virachai Techavijit. He is our school’s founder, owner, and chairman who has been determined to make the children who study here become kind and ambitious people. With that being said, let's have a look at his past, accomplishments, and his plans for the future.

At the age of 19, Dr. Virachai Techavijit became the headmaster of the Joseph School in Sampran, managing over 1,000 students and 35 teachers.

“Most of the staff were older than me,” Dr. Virachai recalled in the 25th-anniversary celebration.

When he turned 21 years old, he left to study in the United States, where he earned his Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. degrees in Accounting. He then worked as a professor at universities across the USA for six years, eventually setting his sights on the West Coast. In 1981, he got a position as an MBA lecturer at the University of California until tragedy struck; his father got a tumor in his lungs that caused him to come back to Thailand, where he spent the next 12 years working in a variety of sectors. However, that was not it; his dream was to open his own school, and that’s when he decided to open Regents, starting with nothing but grass and the MFL building. Over the years, he began to build more classrooms and buildings that lead to our school’s current site.

Dr. Virachai wanted the students that studied in his schools to have a well-balanced personality, which he called ‘character education.' He decided to introduce the Round Square Curriculum to both the Pattaya and Bangkok campuses. After a bit of time, he had managed to achieve accreditation with the companies that had owned Round Square, which allowed both Regents Bangkok and Pattaya to officially became Round Square Schools. Furthermore, he was able to recruit teachers from overseas to try and build our school’s vision. How amazing is that! In addition, Dr. Virachai had a lot of properties that he used to expand our school. One of his properties is Grand Regents, which was made so that families could move in and live together near the school. Dr. Virachai dreamed that all the families would live in Grand Regents as a big community, where the students would cycle to school.

The doctor has developed Regents in a variety of ways and has accomplished endless goals throughout the years. His students had a lot of opportunities to experience unique and educational learning, both indoor and outdoor. As the founder of Regents, he has worked hard and dedicated his life to bring our school into a union.
