How does Bath & Body Works attract consumers to spend their money unconsciously?

Bath & Body Works is an American retail store chain where they sell products like candles, soaps, body lotions, scrubs etc. In average, they profit $5,000,000,000 per year and have been loved by people all around the world over the past years. But have you ever imagined if they could be a scam? Or even if they could be bad for your health?
First of all, let’s have a look at how they get us to spend our money. Have you ever felt like you wanted to buy something so badly just because it was new? If so, even if that product was actually the exact same product that you already had, do you think you would have still wanted it?
One of the biggest ways that they get us to spend money is making repackages, meaning that they release ‘new lines’ with the same name, same smell but with a different cover. As an example, the Waikiki Beach Coconut smell was released more than once just with a different cover. This made people who already bought the smell buy this product again, without knowing that it contained the same smell.
Moving on, have you ever imagined whether Bath & Body Works products are safe for us? You could have known that some of Bath & Body Works products may not be healthy for us, but have you ever researched it in depth?
Many products contain a substance called fragrance, which is a mixture of chemicals that gives out the smell of the products. While the smell of the fragrance may be really pleasant, it contains many noxious chemicals such as phthalates. Also, following the dermatologists’ research studies, they have proven that fragrance can cause health issues such as irritation, allergies, and rashes, especially for ones with sensitive skin. However, even though they might contain many harmful chemicals, in most of the supplement sections, they are just labeled as “fragrance,” making many people unaware.
Another example of the unhealthy products in Bath & Body Works is candles.
Candles are really popular within the Bath & Body Works community. They have a nice smell and can fill your room with a lovely, sweet scent. But did you know that they can be toxic? Some say that the candles from Bath and Body works might be equivalent to burning fossil fuels in your house! While this might not be 100% true, because the majority of the candles are made with paraffin wax, which release carcinogenic chemicals when they burn, it is true that these candles can cause serious health problems to our body.
As we have discussed, Bath & Body Works products may only seem pleasant but there are also a lot of disadvantages of buying them so you should be aware of them and use them at your own risk. Additionally, as Bath & Body Works provide products and services for us, in order to gain credit, they have to be responsible for supplying us with safe and high-quality products.
